Joey Travolta’s Short Film Camp 2016 – July 11 – 22, 2016 Monday – Friday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Limited to 50 campers – Ages 11-23
(exceptions made for younger campers if criteria for participation is met)

Joey Travolta, special educator and film maker, and his crew of professionals teach kids age 12-23 the art of film  making from concept to creation.  In 2 weeks, campers learn everything from script development, pitching an idea, lighting, directing, acting, editing, animation, and shoot a digital short film. The program is inclusive to kids with special needs and on the higher end of the autism spectrum or aspergers. It is not a special needs camp, however the program infuses social skills in a creative environment with film making the common denominator. The focus is on collaboration and support of  each others creative contributions.  Once the film is complete, a red carpet premier is held and the campers see the end result of their creation. Each camper leaves with a copy of the film.  It is an amazing experience for all involved.

We additionally hold monthly film club (Peer Vision Film Club) at our center in River Edge to continue the newly made relationships and extend the film making opportunities. (Oct. – June)

Joey’s program is more than impressive. He runs the show and the kids are drawn to him. ANY kid who loves film and wants to learn from the pro’s will love this camp!

Tuition Fee is predicated on funds raised through the Send a Kid to Film Camp Campaign. Please contact us (information above) if you are interested in supporting this program with a contribution.
