This Week’s Gospel Message

Tuesday, July 17th, 2018

This Week’s Gospel Message for Sunday, July 22, 2018 is from Mark 6:30-34. “When he disembarked and saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.” “Jesus plans to take [his disciples] to a deserted place so they can rest and recharge, but people from ‘all the towns’ hurry and get there first. Jesus must have realized that this would naturally happen if people were receptive to his disciples, so now he shows his disciples the responsibility they must have to the people they attract. They cannot flee from their followers; indeed…they must serve them.”
