This Week’s Gospel Message

Thursday, September 20th, 2018

This week’s Gospel message for Sunday, September 23, 2018 is from Mark 9:30-37.

“[Jesus] was teaching his disciples and telling them, ‘The Son of Man is to be handed over to men and they will kill him, and three days after his death the Son of Man will rise.’ Then he called the Twelve, and said to them, ‘If anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all.’”

“As Jesus is telling the disciples about the ultimate selfless act that he is facing, they are immersed in a most self-centered discussion. But, patiently, he teaches them again: you must be willing to serve all, especially the least among you.”
