This Week’s Gospel Message

Thursday, November 8th, 2018

This Week’s Gospel Message for Sunday, November 11th is from Mark 12:38-44. “A poor widow also came and put in two small coins … [Jesus said to his disciples,] ‘Amen, I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the other contributors to the treasury … she, from her poverty, has contributed all she had, her whole livelihood.’” “We are told that the widow in the Gospel has no more than these two small coins: Jesus says she ‘has contributed all she had, her whole livelihood’ (Mark 12:44). She has given all that she has to God. She has faith that God will provide. Like Jesus, she is a model of complete generosity and faith.” Source: Pastoral Patterns, Autumn 2018
