This week’s Gospel message for Sunday, December 16th is from Luke 3:10-18.
“Now the people were filled with expectation, and all were asking in their hearts whether John might be the Christ. John answered them all, saying, ‘I am baptizing you with water, but one mightier than I is coming.”
“John the Baptist challenges the crowds in today’s Gospel. Eager to follow him, they ask what they should do. John responds with practical guidance: share your food and clothing, act honorably, be honest. We are not told what they do, but we are told they were filled with expectation.”
