Safe Environment Certification and Re-certification
“Protecting God’s Children” is a workshop required for adults, both employees and volunteers, who are in contact with children, as mandated by the Archdiocese of Newark. “Protecting God’s Children” workshop is for new volunteers, new employees or those individuals who are already certified but need to be re-certified. Re-certification is required every five years.

New Volunteers/Employees – First Time Certification
Register online at www.rcan.org by clicking on ‘Protecting God’s Children’ or go directly to www.virtus.org. This workshop is scheduled throughout the Archdiocese of Newark for your convenience. Individuals may register for this workshop for any location regardless of where the individual is an employee or volunteer.
Volunteers/Employees – Re-certification
Recertification is required every five years. Registration for re-certification cannot be done by the individual. Must contact Sr. Regina at 201-871-4662 or at reled@nullolmc.us. This workshop is scheduled throughout the Archdiocese of Newark for your convenience, however, individuals must register through Sr. Regina for re-certification.
