This Week’s Gospel Message

Thursday, March 21st, 2019

This Week’s Gospel Message for Sunday, March 24th is from Luke 13:1-9.

“Jesus said to [the people] in reply, ‘Do you think that because these Galileans suffered in this way they were greater sinners that all other Galileans? . . . Or those eighteen people who were killed when the tower at Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than everyone else who lived in Jerusalem? By no means! But I tell you, if you do not repent, you will all perish as they did!’”

“Our true nature as Christians is to live according to the promises we made in baptism, which we renew each year at Easter. When we fall short, repentance is the first step to reorient ourselves toward God. During Lent, in anticipation of Easter, we are called to do just that.”
