Pastor’s Letter

Wednesday, July 17th, 2019

Dear Brothers and Sisters of Our Lady of Mount Carmel,

I have several requests to alert you about today. In addition to your faithful presence and support of our ongoing mission, the following needs have been brought to my attention.

First, we have announced that the Office of Concern food pantry has a summer appeal underway for diapers. Donations of diapers may be brought to the elevator lobby for pick up by the Office of Concern.

Next, we will be hosting three families of mothers with children during the week of July 28 through August 4. We need volunteers to sleep over and to provide meals for our guests. Please see page 6 of this bulletin for more information.

Then, on August 3 and 4, Fr. Nakka David Raju from the diocese of Vijayawada, India will be asking for our support in a second collection at all Masses.

And, lastly, on September 1, Christopher Tomeo, a recent graduate of our Academy, will be conducting a drive for school supplies to assist St. Ann School in Harlem. Christopher is undertaking this good work in partial fulfillment of his goal of becoming an Eagle Scout.

It is our privilege to share our resources as much as we are able, so I wanted you to know about all these worthy causes asking for our help throughout the summer.

Thanks to all who made the Feast Day barbecue so wonderful!

Sincerely yours in Christ and Our Lady of Mount Carmel,

fr. Dan
