Dear Brothers and Sisters of Our Lady of Mount Carmel,
Today I ask you to join me in welcoming several guests to our parish in the coming days.
This Sunday evening we will once again host homeless families as part of the Family Promise Homeless Family Program of Bergen County. At this moment we expect two mothers and four children to be with us. We will provide dinner and a place to sleep for the next week. Elliot Guerra has organized another blessed week of meals, entertainment and overnight hosts.
I consider this one of our proudest ministries. We are so obviously blessed. One of our greatest blessings is your willingness to share your time and talents near and far. I am most grateful to Elliot for leading this outreach the past three years and to each of you who continue to demonstrate that all are welcome at OLMC.
We will also be hosting the MarbleJam program led by Joey Travolta beginning tomorrow and running for the next two weeks in the entire school building.
Next Sunday, August 4 we will welcome Fr. Nakka David Raju from the diocese of Vijayawada, India who will be speaking at all Masses asking for our support. Your financial support of next weekend’s special second collection is appreciated.
The week after that we will welcome Fr. Mark Schaffner, O.Carm. as our new pastor. Fr. Mark will take over on August 15 and will arrive a few days prior to that date to get settled.
I will be presiding at the 10 AM and 12 Noon Masses on August 11 and we will have a parish coffee in between those two Masses.
