Walk In Dinner Program

Tuesday, March 31st, 2020

The challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic affect everyone, including homeless families and people who are hungry. Our Lady of Mount Carmel is in the business of helping all those people, and we are continuing to do that even in these trying days. With that said, it is of the utmost importance that parishioners stay safe, healthy and do not do anything outside of their comfort zone.

On April 7th OLMC will keep her commitment to serve our most vulnerable brothers and sisters. Join us for our next Walk-In Dinner program on Tuesday, April 7th.

There are three ways to help, choose one, or all three.

1. Pray for us! Lift up our cause in your daily prayers.

2. Donate! Cook and drop off either whole baked potatoes, mixed veggies, meatloafs or assorted desserts. Or donate items like coffee, milk and butter! See the link below!

3. Serve the meal! Join us from 4-6pm at the Hackensack kitchen (120 S. River Street Hackensack, NJ) to serve the meal to our brothers and sisters.

Important, please read!

We will be amending our drop off policy. OLMC staff members will collect the donated food at the elevator entrance at the North Parking directly from your car at 12 Noon. They will be wearing protective gear, sanitize all containers and then reheat the meal. No volunteers are to enter the building. Please be as prompt as possible.

For those who choose to serve at the Hackensack Walk In Dinner (120 S. River Street, Hackensack, NJ), you must wear closed toe shoes and a baseball hat. We will provide gloves and other protective materials. The Department of Health and Human Services has many best practices in place and has amended their services to protect their clients and our volunteers including taking the temperature of all guests and volunteers. Thank you for your service!
