OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL CHURCH RELIGIOUS EDUCATION OFFICE

TENAFLY, NEW JERSEY 07670

MAY 5, 2020

Dear Friends,

Sr. Regina Chassar, SSJ

This coming weekend we celebrate the Fifth Sunday of Easter and Mother’s Day. We are called to continue the mission of Jesus. We hear Jesus saying good-bye and the disciples are distressed. Jesus tells them he will return but they don’t understand what he is saying to them. What could Jesus mean?

In the days of the early church the people were challenged. They had to find ways to continue the work that Jesus began with serving the people of God.

We have a challenge today as we continue to self isolate at home with our family. During this time of stay at home we can grow in so many ways with our God and family. We participate in the virtual masses on TV, pray for all people here and throughout the world, pray for our family and friends, donate to our church and to those in need if we are able, pray for those who are unemployed and so many more causes. May the Lord bless and keep us safe.

I sent a message this past week to all families that the Religious Education books will be available to be picked up on Wednesday and Thursday this week and next between the hours of 10 am and 1 pm. The books will be found on the bench and floor at the top of the stairs. The books are sorted according to grade level and students names are on the books. We ask that students use this time to complete their remaining lessons and seasonal lessons. The books do not have to be returned.

You and your entire family are remembered in prayer daily and continue this prayer each and everyday. May all mothers be blessed today.

Blessings,

Sister Regina
