The Call of Service

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2020

This past week the parishioners of Our Lady of Mount Carmel continued to answer the call to service. The parish should be very proud of themselves as our health crisis has become a food crisis for many. OLMC parishioners joined volunteers and Church staff at the Office of Concern where 398 of our brothers and sisters were served groceries in a single day, World Central Kitchen in Englewood where 400 hot meals are given out six days a week,  as well as Family Promise in Hackensack, where over 150 meals are delivered daily to our homeless brothers and sisters temporarily being housed in local motels. Parishioners also donated dozens of hard-to-find boxes of pasta, cereal and cans of meat and donated $1,100 dollars in Scrip supermarket gift cards that benefit the Office of Concern as well as our students in our Academy! Phew, what a week! OLMC has been on the front line answering Christ’s call of service! Keep those prayers coming and check out the photos below!
