HAVE A SLOWED-DOWN CATHOLIC SUMMER
It’s summer! No more e-learning, homeschooling or whatever sort of schooling the students have been working on this past few months. Try some of these suggestions to make your summer a little more Catholic.
WORKS OF MERCY
Use the seven corporeal works of mercy. e.g. Have an older child commit to helping a younger sibling get drinks and snacks.
GET MOVING
Plan a kids Olympics- have the kids practice all morning, then hold the games after lunch. Talk about how our bodies, no matter how they look or function, are gifts from God.
EXPLORE NATURE
Take a hike or a walk. Look for birds, insects and different kind of trees and foliage. Enjoy being outside in God’s creation. Remind the kids that it’s important to be good stewards of the Earth and the creatures who live here.
WRITE LETTERS
Write a letter, send a card or care package to a family member you haven’t seen in a while.
PRAY FOR THE SICK
Dedicate some of your prayer time for the sick and suffering in our country and around the world. Especially during this corona virus pandemic.
CORPORAL WORKS OF MERCY
Feed the hungry.
Give drink to the thirsty.
