September, 2020

Dear Friends,

Sr. Regina Chassar, SSJ

I write this note to you as we are still suffering the results of the pandemic. This virus has affected the life and activities of so many people around the world and does not seem to be letting up.

Last week we mailed a letter and re-registration form to families who are in the Religious Education Program. We ask that families respond as soon as possible. After receiving the registration information, I will be able to assign a catechist to the grade levels for the remote learning classes. New family registration is done on line or in the office. Hopefully we can begin the remote classes around the 27th of September.

I am ordering a copy of the religion book for all students. You will be notified when the books are available for pick up at the Religious Ed. Office. The catechists will be following the lessons in the grade level book. The remote sessions will be about 30-35 minutes in length. The chapter is to be completed by the student after the session. Parents are asked to supervise the completion of the chapter.

The catechists will contact the families on their list to set up the time for remote learning that is good for the entire group session. The reception of First Communion for those students who were scheduled to receive this past year has been rescheduled in October. All families received a letter with the information. Letters regarding the reception of Confirmation were mailed by Elliot Guerra regarding the scheduling of the Sacrament.

The Archdiocese of Newark will inform us when on site Religious Education Classes can resume. We will be in the remote mode until at least December 2020.

You are all in our prayers each and every day. I know this is a difficult time for everyone but we trust the Lord to assist us at this time.

Please pray for each other and for people around the world.

Blessings and stay safe,

Sister Regina
