The Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia Invite You to Celebrate Laudato Sí Year

Pope Francis designated May 24, 2020 through May 24, 2021 as Laudato Sí Year to commemorate the fifth anniversary of his landmark encyclical on the care for our common home. The following is a reflection on excerpts from Laudato Sí.

Pope Francis’s Laudato Sí #23, 25: The climate is a common good, belonging to all and meant for all. At the global level, it is a complex system linked to many of the essential conditions for human life. Climate change is a global problem with grave implications: environmental, social, economic, political and for the distribution of goods. It represents one of the principal challenges facing humanity in our day.

Reflection: What grave implications come to mind when you think about the effects climate change will have on the environment? Human health? Economic implications? Do you know anyone who is already suffering the grave consequences of climate change?
