Present in the Universe

Thursday, December 17th, 2020

Pope Francis designated May 24, 2020 through May 24, 2021 as Laudato Sí Year to commemorate the fifth anniversary of his landmark encyclical on the care for our common home.  The following is an excerpt from Laudato Sí and a reflection provided by the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia.

Pope Francis’s Laudato Sí #85: God has written a precious book, “whose letters are present in the universe.”  The Canadian bishops rightly pointed out that no creature is excluded from this manifestation of God: “From panoramic vistas to the tiniest living form, nature is a constant source of wonder and awe.  It is also a continuing revelation of the divine.”

Reflection:  Just sit with this excerpt until it moves you to experience awe and wonder at the manifold ways God is ever present.  Do this every day this week as we anticipate celebrating the feast of the Incarnation.
