Philip H. Reicherz has been with OLMC for 17 years. He serves at Mount Carmel because he hopes “to ensure that OLMC’s well-recognized, religious & educational presence and its efforts to spread/teach/support Christianity continues.” On winter weekends, he can often be found watching his children play CYO basketball in Mount Carmel’s gymnasium.
Daniel Lee has been with OLMC for three years. When asked about why he serves here at Mount Carmel, he says “I serve because it is one small way to acknowledge the many blessings that God has bestowed upon me and to express my gratitude by using those gifts and talents to serve in His name. Daniel grew up in Los Angeles. One of his parish priests was also an Emmy Award-winning television and movie producer. “So the church has always been a fun and exciting place for me!”
Chip Clingham has been with OLMC for 12 years. He says that “everyone has an opportunity to give back to the Parish community in some meaningful way that leverages a skill or area of interest. The Finance Committee allows me to do that for OLMC.” An interesting fact about Chip is that he flew Blackhawk helicopters for the U.S. Army for eight years.
Tom Izzard grew up in Tenafly and has been a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel his entire life. He attended OLMC’s grammar school from kindergarten through eighth grade. Tom’s sentiment about Mount Carmel is that he thinks “of the parish in the same context as ‘home’ and ‘family.’” He says, “I want to help provide the same experience for today’s families.” Tom has also helped coach the OLMC Track Team for the past 16 years. He says, “I enjoy working with the kids, the fresh spring air and I only have to remember one phrase, ‘Run faster!’”
