Service On Saturday Information

We’re so excited that you’ve decided to join your family and our parish community at our first Service On Saturday Family Community Service Event for the 2019-2020 year! Below is some information about the morning of service. If you have any questions please e-mail me or call me at 201-218-8956 at any time!

Join us in the Parish Auditorium (Odyssey Theatre) for coffee and light refreshments and to pick up your free t-shirt anytime between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and around 10:15 a.m. you will meet your team leader and they will give you any details needed that day. We’ll pray and give announcements together and then you will drive your own family to the worksite (addresses below!)
Work at Worksite Rain or Shine!
Whether you’re at Palisades Interstate Park or the Community Food Bank of New Jersey you must dress comfortably and for the weather (predicted to be mid-sixties and cloudy) remember the warehouse at the Food Bank it is not heated. You must wear closed toe shoes. An OLMC team leader will have a first aid kit with them as well as our hosts. Parents must remain with any minors in their charge.

    There is plenty of parking and I will meet the group by the entrance. The activities will be along the Shore Trail, which is a short downhill walk from the picnic area. If anyone needs to get in touch you may give out my work cell number (201) 615-9226. The park provides gloves, bags and tools for the volunteers.

    PLEASE NOTE- there is a race that day in the southern end of the park, and the southernmost entrance (at Hudson Terrace/Edgewater border) will be closed to all traffic. Volunteers will have to enter the park via Dyckman Hill Road (PIP Exit 1, continue east off Palisade Ave.) to get to Undercliff. Feel free to reach out (number above) if you need any clarification, and we look forward to working with you all on Saturday!
