Show Up For Shabbat

October 25, 2019

6:15 pm dinner, 7:30 pm service

On Friday evening, October 25, we will come together as a community with Temple Sinai members, neighbors and friends from Our Lady of Mount Carmel and other faith traditions for a special Shabbat service commemorating the tragic shootings in Pittsburgh one year ago. Let’s use this Shabbat as a time to console and heal, support and strengthen, and unite to say a resounding NO to anti-Semitism and hate.

Prior to the service there will be a free community dinner at 6:15 pm at Temple Sinai. Mount Carmel parishioners should RSVP by noon Wednesday, October 23 to the church office at rectory@nullolmc.us or 201.568.0545.

The service will begin at 7:30pm. We will be privileged to have Fr. Mark Shaffner O. Carm of Our Lady of Mount Carmel participating in the service. The beginning of the observance will be dedicated to remembering the eleven people who died with candlelighting, music and prayers. The remainder of the evening will be a Shabbat service.

At Temple Sinai, please enter from the lower parking lot as the Engle Street entrance will be closed.

We hope that you will join us Friday evening as we come together in peace and support, to welcome guests and to remake Shabbat into a joyful day again.
