JUNE 15, 2020

Dear Friends,

I want to thank you for allowing me to work with you these past weeks as a partner in the faith formation of your children. These past weeks have been a challenge and hopefully we have met that challenge. Being the Director of Religious Education and a catechist is a privilege—and I do not take that privilege lightly. Everything I do is in support of what you are doing each and every day in your home. Your prayers and blessings, use of other sacramentals, attendance at mass with your child, and conversations you share with your children about God and Jesus are very critical to the formation of your child’s faith as a Catholic Christian. All of that is reinforced by the faith concepts we share as catechists in the religious education classes.

Although the religious education classes were interrupted due to the corona virus, religious formation in the home knows no reason to stop. Your child’s faith will continue to grow strong in the coming months by your family prayer, play and the service that we show to others.

The reception of the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion are delayed and at this time have not been rescheduled. As soon as we have information regarding the reception of these two sacraments, we will be in touch.

Celebration of daily mass at Mount Carmel has resumed today and will continue Monday through Saturday. We continue to pray for the resumption of Sunday mass. Please check the parish web page for more information. www.olmc.us

The Lord has blessed us with good weather for these past weeks and for this we give praise and thanks. Please pray for those areas of our country that are experiencing any kind of turmoil. May God bless us all with peace and harmony.

Blessings,

Sister Regina Chassar

Director of Religious Education
