This Week’s Gospel Message

Thursday, July 16th, 2020

This Week’s Gospel Message for Sunday, July 19th is from Matthew 13:24-43.

“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a person took and sowed in a field. It is the smallest of all the seeds, yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants. It becomes a large bush, and the birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches.”

“Growth implies change. Change effected by the Spirit, who comes to the aid of human weakness, is transformative. The image of a huge bush filled with birds flying in from every direction to nest together in its branches is a beautiful vision of the heavenly kingdom. May our example draw others to flock to God’s welcoming, loving, infinite embrace.” Source: Pastoral Patterns, Summer 2020
