Dear Friends,
We have met with Father Ashley Harrington, temporary administrator of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and discussed the dates and times for the celebration of First Communion. Due to the pandemic, we are required to set limits on church capacity. We will celebrate First Communion with two Masses on two Saturdays in October for First Communicants and some family members:

Rehearsal in the Church on Thursday, October 1st at 3:45 PM
Saturday, October 3rd at 2 PM
Rehearsal in the Church on Thursday, October 1st at 4:30 PM
Saturday, October 10th at 11 AM
Rehearsal in the Church on Thursday, October 8th at 3:45 PM
Saturday, October 10th at 2 PM

Our church capacity permitted at Mass is set at 100 people. This may change as we move forward and we will keep you updated if we receive any information from the Archdiocese of Newark. The Masses will be live streamed so that other family members may view the celebration remotely. Your family will receive a letter in the mail, in the coming days to let you know which date is assigned to you.
We look forward to celebrating this important ritual in the life of our young members. Below you will find the date and time of your child’s First Communion Mass as well as the date and time for a very brief rehearsal. At the rehearsal we will practice receiving Communion with unconsecrated bread so that the children have a taste of the bread before their First Communion day. We will also practice the procession into the church. Face masks must be worn in the church.
