Religious Education News

Thursday, August 20th, 2020

Dear Friends,

We are nearing the beginning of the school year and the virus is still present and making opening of schools and religious education programs very difficult. As I mentioned in a previous letter the Religious Education Program will go to online remote learning until it is safe to restore our
regular class schedule.

The catechists in our program are willing to teach classes on line via zoom sessions. We are in the process of establishing class lists for the catechists and setting up the program with our book publisher for the necessary material that can be accessed via the Internet.

You know that continuous religious instruction in the faith is important for a child’s growth in faith and practice. I will be in touch once everything is in place to begin classes on line. Our hope is to begin around the 27th of September.

If you have a child entering first grade in the fall please register them with the Religious Ed office so that they can be included in this learning process. The children who were in the Sunday Kindergarten class this past year are now on the first grade list.

Students entering the 9th grade will hear from Elliot Guerra regarding the prep for reception of Confirmation in 2021.

Blessings and prayers,
Sister Regina Chassar

Director of Religious Education
