Dear Parents and Students,

On October 31st we celebrate the eve of All Saints then we move to November 1st the feast day and holyday of obligation. Now we don’t think of this holy day of obligation as a time of gift-giving, but consider doing just that this year. Give your child a special gift that will be long treasured: make sure your child knows who his or her patron saint is. If your child doesn’t have a patron saint, help him or her choose one.

This month of October is filled with saints that could be a could resource for you:

1St. Therese of the Child Jesus, 2-Holy Guardian Angels,4-St. Francis of Assisi,

6-St. Bruno, Blessed Marie Rose Durocher, 7- Our Lady of the Rosary, 9-St. Denis,

St. John Leonardi, 14-St. Callixtus I,15-St. Teresa of Jesus,16-St. Hedwig.St. Margaret Mary Alacoque,17-St. Ignatius of Antioch, 18-St. Luke- 20-St. Paul of the Cross, 22-St. John Paul II-23-

Our children are surrounded by a media that profiles performing and sports personalities- some of them positive and others decidedly not. This All Saints Day, give your child a lifelong treasure: a patron saint who will inspire a life of holiness. Research saints with your child on the Internet and learn about their heroic and courageous love for God. Think about giving your child a children’s volume of the lives of the saints, or a holy card or medal of his or her patron saint. Such a simple gift can influence your child’s life of faith in a very significant way!

As we pray through the month of October, we remember all those who are suffering because of the virus, wild fires in the west and violence in our cities. Lord, send us peace. Amen

Blessings,

Sister Regina
