Fall News

Dear Friends,

We have certain things that give our family special significance. Perhaps it’s the family name itself. Perhaps it’s a crest or seal or banner that is representative of a clan or family from which we are descendants.

On Sunday, November 1, we celebrate the Feast of All Saints. We have all learned or talked about some of these saints and how their lives inspire and guide us all in our own lives of faith. The month of October was filled with some of the most notable saints in our church: St. Therese of the Child Jesus, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Teresa of Jesus. St. Luke and St. John Paul II.

Consider gathering as a family on this most holy day to pick a saint who might be your family patron saint. There are many wonderful men and women whose virtues and faith show us how to live with charity, compassion, and forgiveness as members of a family. Adopt this saint, learn all you can about him or her, and invoke this saint’s guidance and wisdom through the years.

Some saints celebrated are: November 3-St, Martin de Porres, 4-St. Charles Borromeo, 5-St, Bertille, 6-St. Leonard,10- St. Leo the Great, 11-St. Martin of Tours, 12-St. Josaphat, 13-St. Frances Xavier Cabrini,15-St. Albert the Great, 16-St. Margaret of Scotland, St. Gertrude, 17-St. Elizabeth of Hungary, 21-Presentation of Mary, 22- St. Cecilia,23-St. Clement-St. Columba-30- St. Andre

On November 2nd we celebrate All Souls Day. We pray for those members of our family who have gone home to God this year and in years past. A special Mass is celebrated on this day.

As we near the conclusion of the month of November we celebrate THANKSGIVING! As a family and nation, we give thanks to God for all the good gifts that we have received. During the time of the covid virus we have not experienced too much celebrating so let’s take this day to praise God and give thanks!

BLESSINGS AND THANKS,
