This past Advent and this Christmas season is like no other in recent memory.Check out the photos of just some of wonderful programing and service projects we were working on this Advent season!

A special thank you to all our volunteers who gave to their brothers and sisters in need. Whether you donated food or other essential items, mentioned our cause in your daily prayers, helped cook meals, or purchased gifts, you are living Christ’s call to serve others in more ways than ever. It is a joy to know that during this unprecedented time of struggle for so many, you—our parishioners—never forgot them. God bless you!

  • For the many members of the parish who spent hours of their time setting up the nativity scenes for Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and the town of Tenafly and for those who donated their time and talents to decorating our church for Christmas.
  • For the hundreds of parishioners who embraced our annual Giving Tree project for St. Simon Stock Church in the Bronx and Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, and “Stockings For Our Sisters” for the Franciscan Sisters in Tenafly, the Sisters of St. Joseph in Teaneck, and the Sisters of Notre Dame in Demarest. And to all those who responded to the Sisters of Life outreach to struggling expectant mothers and children.
  • For the volunteers and donors to the Office of Concern who carry out the gospel mandate to feed the hungry.
  • For all who serve the meals in our name at Family Promise of Bergen County and especially for those willing to do so on Christmas Eve.
  • For all who volunteered to provide meals to those in need as we partnered with World Central Kitchen during the pandemic.
  • For all our liturgical ministers who help make every single celebration of the Eucharist, from weekday Masses to Sunday Masses, First Friday Masses, Holy Days of Obligation, and our Easter and Christmas Masses, prayerful and joyous.
  • For all who teach our children — in the Academy, the Religious Education Program, and our parish’s Confirmation Program. Your support and steadfastness throughout the pandemic, and your creativity in reaching out to students and teens, has helped us realize that we are all in this together.
  • For all who give their time and talent to build community in our parish—everything from this year’s virtual parish coffees, special events, sacred music series and all that brings people together even when we cannot be together in person. And for those who brought Mass into our homes via live stream.
