Dear Friends,

Sr. Regina Chassar, SSJ

Jesus went into the desert to be with God. We can go into the desert and that desert is within us. During the Lenten season we take a good look at ourselves and where we are in our relationship with God and others. We examine our life. We ask ourselves questions: Are we living the life that God asks of us? What do we need to change? Take these 40 days of Lent to enter deeply into prayer, fasting and almsgiving. This is our chance to grow in grace.

The church celebrates the solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord. (March 25) This day marks a holy moment in God’s plan for our salvation. The gospel proclaimed on the Feast of the Annunciation is Luke 1:26-38, which tell us of the appearance of the Angel Gabriel to Mary announcing that she would conceive and bear a son—Jesus.

Mary shows deep faith in God as she said “yes” to God. She served God in accepting her role as the mother of Jesus. Let’s help one another grow in love for Mary as our mother. We can be like Mary during the Lenten season and beyond by always saying “yes” to God’s will.

The Religious Education program continues to do remote classes. Below is a schedule for gathering for class in the church during this holy season.
