Laudato Si’: Care For Our Common Home

April 5–May 10

7:30–8:30 PM

We will meet once a week via Zoom for six consecutive Monday evenings for one hour. If interested, please contact Joe Lavin, certified as a Laudato Si’ animator by the Global Catholic Climate Movement, at jjlavin0120@nullgmail.com or 201-960-5844. Open to all.

Pope Francis’s Laudato Si’ #208: Disinterested concern for others, and the rejection of every form of self-centeredness and self-absorption, are essential if we truly wish to care for our brothers and sisters and for the natural environment. These attitudes also attune us to the moral imperative of assessing the impact of our every action and personal decision on the world around us. If we can overcome individualism, we will truly be able to develop a different lifestyle and bring about significant changes in society.

Reflection: This week assess the impact of your actions that affect the environment; e.g., the amount of waste you produce, the level of consumerism you practice, your water and electricity use. What did you learn? Did you ever consider these as moral choices?
