Masses for Our Country

Wednesday, August 25th, 2021

The Archdiocese of Newark’s “Masses for Our Country” series resumes in September!

This is always held on the First Thursday of the month at Holy Spirit in Union, N.J.  (July 4, 1776 was a Thursday, that’s why it was Mass was said on that day.)

The Mass begins with praying a “Patriotic Rosary” at 7:00 PM.  The Patriotic Rosary is one in which each of the fifty states is mentioned before each decade of the Rosary (10 at a time) as well as the various branches of local, state, and federal government before each Our Father.

The Mass begins at 7:30 PM.

It is, very simply, a time to pray for our country.  The Mass avoids ‘politics’ and just seeks to pray and intercede for our beloved country.
