Rabbi W. Jack Romberg

“The Fate of a German Jewish War Hero”

Hear the story of Richard Stern, a German Jew who was a decorated soldier in World War I, a protester at the start of Hitler’s reign of terror, and a Silver Star decorated US Army soldier. Three heroic actions, at three different times, in three different places.

Richard Stern was the great-uncle of our speaker, Rabbi Jack Romberg. Friday evening, he will share with us the history and highlights of his great-uncle’s life as we commemorate Kristallnacht.

Rabbi Romberg is the author of “A Doorway to Heroism,” the story of Richard Stern, a powerful recounting of courage and resilience in the face of unimaginable odds.
