During the week of January 29th through February 4th the Academy of Our Lady of Mount Carmel—along with thousands of schools across the country—will once again celebrate Catholic Schools Week. This year’s national theme, “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service,” is a celebration of all that is exceptional about Catholic education. Catholic schools have been one of the Church’s greatest contributions to our nation.
For generations, our schools have educated students who have gone on to occupy leadership roles in every area of American life, from Capitol Hill and the Supreme Court to corporate board rooms. Our schools continue to have a far-reaching impact on shaping the world, setting the standard for intellectual rigor grounded in moral values and outreach to the wider community. In our nation’s most economically challenged neighborhoods, Catholic schools are beacons of hope and safety.
Regardless of where our schools are located, the goal remains the same: to graduate students who have strong moral standards and fine academic skills who will become good citizens and able members of the workforce. During Catholic Schools Week, OLMC will be highlighting a number of activities that we invite members of the OLMC family as well as members of the surrounding community to attend.

A National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence and Middle States accredited institution, at OLMC we believe that excellence is not a destination but a commitment to an ongoing journey. The Academy offers more than just outstanding academics. It is here that students strengthen their faith through service and grow as young learners. It is here that students learn lessons that will last a lifetime.
